Our beef processing facility is located right on our farm and is one of the most advanced in the US with state-of-the-art technology and USDA inspectors permanently on-site. When the cattle reach a certain age, they are walked directly from the pasture into our processing facility on the farm, limiting stress that may otherwise be caused by transporting them up to several hundred miles away. Our beef processing facility uses the most advanced methods for the humane handling of livestock and was designed in partnership with animal welfare experts.
As soon as you receive our shipment, transfer the product into your freezer to enjoy at a later time. If you want to enjoy sooner, follow the thawing instructions included in your package.
As long as the meat is kept at a steady freezing temperature, our steaks and roasts can last from eight to twelve months in the freezer.
We recommend placing the meat in the fridge to thaw one day in advance for steaks and up to 24 hours or more for roasts. This will allow the meat to maintain its optimum quality.
In a rush and need to thaw quickly? Place the frozen meat in a re-sealable bag and submerge in a large bowl of cold water (never warm/hot as this will result in unhealthy production of bacteria). Remember to change the water every 15-20 minutes as the temperature increases.

Our beef is wet aged for 30 days. We feel this type of aging produces the most tender and flavorful meat.
Absolutely! We individually vacuum pack and flash freeze our beef immediately after aging is complete right when the flavor and tenderness are at their best. If the thawing instructions are properly followed you won’t be able to taste that the meat has been frozen.
If you’ve cooked grass-fed beef before, you’ve probably noticed that it cooks a little differently than grain-fed beef. The truth is, grass-fed beef does need a little more care during the cooking the process. Adena Farms grass-fed, grass-finished beef is leaner than grain-fed and this results in slightly different cooking times.
