What are some of the challenges you would like to tackle with your work at Adena Farms?

Why are food products at the point where they have been modified in so many ways just to make them shelf stable? Food recalls are becoming commonplace – why is that? Do you know where your food comes from? These are the questions I ask myself.

Keeping the products as pure as possible, maintaining the highest quality and let the true flavors shine through. For example, in our restaurants we only employ the use of Himalayan salt in all of our recipes because it's the highest quality, and the healthiest salt available. I believe that using simple, natural ingredients is healthiest and tastiest way to eat.

How would you describe your daily life at Adena Farms?

No two days are ever the same. From creating new products, to cooking new dishes, to reviewing P&L’s, to developing new strategies for our operations.

What fascinates you about meat and what makes the Adena Farm meat so special?

When deciding on a meal at dinner, most folks like to start with the main component of the dish (Meat) and work around it (starches/veggies/sauces). How do you prepare it? Seasonings?/marinades?

There is a re-assurance when you know where your meat comes from, we are always about quality (in every aspect of our operations) and that directly relates to the flavour of our products. That’s why it is so special.

What's the best way to cook beef?

There are so many creative options, there are no limitations to your creativity. We are truly a farm-to-table concept that I’m truly proud to be a part of.

What are some of the challenges you would like to tackle with your work at Adena Farms?

There are so many mixed messages out there on what is healthy, and what is not. My goal is to empower people with information and guidance to help clear up the confusion.
Empowered consumers of today want to know where their food comes from, how it was grown and how it was prepared. They analyze the packaging, and the social and environmental impact because all these aspects determine the healthfulness of that food product.

At Adena Farms, our ingredients and products are based on these values. From farmers who nurture their soil, grow and raise their animals and crops without chemicals, using natural methods. We strive to source the best of the best.

What are the advantages of a healthy diet?

Having a healthy diet is the most important thing you can do for your health and wellbeing.

A healthy diet gives  you vitality and energy to live your life to the fullest. You will sleep better, age better, your brain will work better, you will feel more positive and glow inside and out.

When you realize how many processes go on in our bodies every day, it is quite amazing! Your body requires over 50 critical nutrients daily to function optimally and build healthy cells. By seizing every opportunity to nourish yourself with nutrient rich foods and avoid empty calories, and chemical laden foods, you will be well on your way to vibrant health.

Can sweet treats be a part of a healthy diet?

When I treat myself with sweets, I try to choose a healthier version to avoid consuming empty calories. Some of my favorites are: a spoonful of fresh raw organic honey, maple syrup and raw organic chocolate. I read all the labels so that I am not consuming preservatives and chemicals, nor GMO’s or refined sugars. I stay away from those altogether. So yes, it is good to treat yourself every once and a while.
