Truly Farm to Table
While the phrase “farm to table” is tossed around a lot these days, to us it’s not just a figure of speech. Whether raised on our farm or our partner farm, our cattle are raised with the same high standards, harvested right at Adena Farms, and then shipped directly to you.
From Birth to Harvest
Lineage, birth record, feeding program, health, and genealogy are recorded to ensure full traceability.
All-Natural Diet
Our cattle live on an all-natural diet from nursing naturally to grazing and foraging naturally in our year-round open pastures. Never fed grain or corn.
Free Roaming
Our cattle graze freely in the pastures year-round. Natural environment with fresh air, natural sunlight and real cowboys.
Processed On Site
Our facility at Adena Farms is designed to capture and reuse resources while lowering consumption of energy and utilities.
Complete Traceability
Because we have complete control and traceability from our farm to your table, we are able to guarantee our high standards of quality.
It Starts with Putting Our Animals First
We do everything possible to avoid causing pain and putting stress on our animals, while providing them with the most natural chemical-free environment. Guided by the principles and philosophies of animal welfare expert Temple Grandin, we have incorporated low-stress handling and care practices of our animals. We elevated the standards even more by creating our own Charter of Animal Rights. Our Charter holds us to the highest ethical and moral standards, guiding our ranch hands, veterinarians, and cowboys to employ the best management practices possible.
Our Charter of Animal Rights
Natural Environment
Every animal has the right to fresh air, clean water, natural daylight and its own natural habitat. Our cattle graze in wide open pastures year-round, eating fresh grass on rolling hills among spring-fed ponds and trees that provide shade.
Natural Food
Every animal has the right to natural food (grass), free from pesticides. Our cattle are nursed naturally by their mothers and once weaned, they are 100% grass-fed and finished year-round in open pastures.
Natural Growth
Every animal has the right to grow at its natural rate without being administered growth hormones and sub-therapeutic antibiotics. We believe our animals have the right to live and grow to maturity and we will not harvest calves.
Freedom of Movement
Every animal has the right to an appropriate amount of space in which to live and roam freely. At Adena Farms, we go above and beyond the minimum space requirements established by the top animal welfare certification programs.
Emotional Well Being
Every animal has the right to carry out their natural behaviors and deserves human respect, care and empathy. We have incorporated low-stress handling and care practices of our animals; guiding our ranch hands, veterinarians, and cowboys to employ the best care and welfare practices possible.
Natural Feed Makes for Natural Beef
Our cattle are naturally nursed by their mothers, once weaned, they roam and graze freely year-round and feed and forage on our open pastures. We provide them with thousands of acres of open pastures; one quarter of which is preserved as forests and wetlands, creating a natural and undisturbed habitat for many native species. Our cattle are naturally fed from birth, 100% Grass-fed and finished, meaning we are certified by the American Grassfed Association (AGA) that our cattle do not ever see a feedlot.
Don't Take Our Word for It
Our cattle have been given a Step 4 rating by the global non-profit organization Global Animal Partnership (GAP) which is dedicated to improving the lives of farm animals. GAP inspects all aspects of our operation, including breeding, overall animal health, handling of our cattle, and what they are fed. The Step 4 rating certifies that we are pasture-centered and have a proven commitment to animal welfare.
Preserving Our Land and Enriching Our Biodiversity
On our farms we incorporate eco-friendly farming and regenerative agricultural practices. We exclusively herd our cattle with cowboys on horseback and herding dogs. Cowboy ranching institutes a quieter, less stressful and more natural experience for the cattle. Our experienced cowboys herd the cattle with emotional and physical care while providing attention to their well-being.
On our thousands of acres of land, we have committed to ensure that approximately one quarter is preserved as forests and wetlands, creating a natural and undisturbed habitat for many native species. These ecosystems are teeming with life and the rich diversity of species that nature gives us.
Regenerative farming strives to improve soil health overtime. When soil is healthy it stores more carbon and increases biodiversity. Through practices such as integrating cattle, maintaining soil coverage, and rotating pastures we contribute to a healthy soil system. Through grazing, our cattle aerate the soil with their hooves and their manure adds organic matter to the soil. These practices help regenerate the land, replenish nutrients and enrich the diversity of species.
Our focus on the environment has earned us the distinguished Environmental Stewardship Award in 2016 from the Florida Cattleman’s association.
Raised here. Processed here.
Our philosophy is based on raising animals in the most natural environment possible, using the greatest of care and the highest standards of animal welfare. Our animals are raised on our farms in a natural environment and are also processed here without adding any additional stress or pain or ever seeing a single feedlot.
We have built one of the most modern, USDA-inspected meat processing plants right on our farm, which is specially designed to avoid pain and stress to our cattle. Visitors are welcome. We are proud of the way we do things.
In addition, our plants are audited on an ongoing basis by the Food Safety Net Services (FSNS), a worldwide leader in food safety and testing. We have USDA inspectors permanently onsite. We are certified by the BRC Global Standard for Food and Safety, a certification for food manufacturers who employ best-in-class practices and implement quality management systems. Finally, we adhere to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), a globally recognized system for reducing the risk of safety hazards in food from processing and handling right through distribution.

Highest Standard of Quality Control
Farm to table means we own and manage our entire food supply chain. We raise the animals and process the meat we ship. This ensures we maintain the highest quality of beef with a focus on the highest welfare of our cattle.
We age-verify all our cattle, maintaining birth records of every animal born on our farm. Calves are electronically identified at birth and logbooks are used to track their health and genealogy. We have complete traceability from our farm to your table.
Our Partner Farm
Our premium beef comes from our own farm, as well as a like-minded local partner who follows the same Charter of Animal Rights.
Evans Hooks Cattle Company, Swainsboro GA
The fourth-generation farm devoted solely to raising 100% grass-fed beef is excited to partner with the Adena brand.
Owner Evans and his son Addison state: “We have compassion for cattle and love what we do. It is our job to take care of these animals and also provide a safe quality product. We believe happier cattle means amazing tenderness and flavor. We are excited about raising the family here on our farm, and we think every day is Earth Day here, so we’re trying to keep greener pastures and fun days ahead.”
