This rating provides transparency for customers while recognizing farmers and ranchers for their proven commitment to animal welfare.

What does shipping cost?
- $40 shipping and packaging on orders under $149
- $20 discounted shipping on orders $149 to $249

How should I store my meat?
As soon as you receive our shipment, transfer the product into your freezer to enjoy at a later time. If you want to enjoy sooner, follow the thawing instructions included in your package.
How long will the meat keep in the freezer?
As long as the meat is kept at a steady freezing temperature, our steaks and roasts can last from eight to twelve months in the freezer.
What’s the best way to thaw the product?
We recommend placing the meat in the fridge to thaw one day in advance for steaks and up to 24 hours or more for roasts. This will allow the meat to maintain its optimum quality.
In a rush and need to thaw quickly? Place the frozen meat in a re-sealable bag and submerge in a large bowl of cold water (never warm/hot as this will result in unhealthy production of bacteria). Remember to change the water every 15-20 minutes as the temperature increases.
Are your products processed in a nut-free facility?
Yes, we are a nut-free facility.
How do you age your meat?
Our beef is wet aged for 3 weeks. We feel this type of aging produces the most tender and flavorful meat.
Can frozen beef taste as good as fresh?
Absolutely! We individually vacuum pack and flash freeze our beef immediately after aging is complete right when the flavor and tenderness are at their best. If the thawing instructions are properly followed you won’t be able to taste that the meat has been frozen.
What’s the best way to cook grass-fed beef?
If you’ve cooked grass-fed beef before, you’ve probably noticed that it cooks a little differently than grain-fed beef. The truth is, grass-fed beef does need a little more care during the cooking process. Adena Farms grass-fed, grass-finished beef is leaner than grain-fed, resulting in slightly faster cooking times. Be careful not to overcook it. For best results, use a meat thermometer to measure the internal temperature:
- Well Done 160°F
- Medium Well 150°F
- Medium 145°F
- Medium Rare 135°F
- Rare 125°F
Remove steaks and burgers when they are 5°F away from desired doneness and allow to rest at least 3 minutes (temperature will continue to rise).
